Curator's Note
Zombie cinema is not always bleak, brutal, or solemn. Sometimes the undead become funnier the more they reveal the absurdity of ordinary life, consumer culture, teenage panic, dysfunctional families, and genre convention itself. This collection follows the comic and cult branch of zombie cinema: deadpan humor, punk attitude, splatter excess, undead romance, mockumentary form, meta-film reversals, and B-movie chaos. The point is not which film is the scariest, but which one turns the zombie into the strangest and most playful genre device.
